Singapore Koon San Athletic Athletic Association (新加坡昆山体育会) was established in the year 1978. The association’s aim is to promote widely the Zhou Jia Quan and Zhou Jia Lion dance. Set up by our late master Mr Ng Hang Thia who is the direct descendant of late Grand Master Lee Kuan, Master Ng belongs to the 3rd generation of Zhou Jia Quan in Singapore.
Koon (昆) represents our late Grand Master Lee Kuan
San (山) represents the birth place of Grand Master Lee, "Fo San" country in the "Nam-Hai" Magistrate, Guandong Province China.
With a history of 30 years, our students have actively taken part in competitions and performances, both locally and overseas.
Our strong Sanda team had also achieved numerous medals and trophies in Singapore. Moreover, selected members we bestowed the grand opportunity to represent Singapore in various overseas competitions like the World Wushu Competition, Asian Championships, Taiwan Zhongzhen competition, SEA games etc.
Furthermore, our Lion dance members never fail to display our strong roots in martial arts and the unique characteristics of the Zhou Jia lion dance.
Needless to mention, the Wushu team has built a good reputation in the local Wushu industry as well. Having clinched the overall champion in the Open Category for consecutively 3 years, we will strive even harder to uphold this art and the Zhou Jia spirit to our younger generation and the generations to come. |
